Email Subject: But as for me.....

Dear Friends,

Often I catch myself wanting to see people do different things and certain way.  When that doesn't happen I can become critical and complaining.  I am slowly learning (I am 61 which is not all that fun, wish that it wasn't so slow in the learning process) that I am responsible for "MY" walk, "MY" faithfulness, "MY" obedience, "MY" steadfastness, "MY" passion for the Lord.  Yes, I can and must impact others as a Christ follower for the good but I must keep my focus on who Christ is for my life and what He has done in me and wants to do through me!

I am challenged from Psalm 75:9,10 (NLT) in this light, "But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.  For God says, "I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly."  How vital it is for our life and the times we live in that we focus our attention on a daily basis on "Our" responsibility before God, note a few things from the text if you will please:  My focus must always be on the worship of the God of Heaven, the author of my salvation, the Lord of my life, the hope of the nations.  I love this saying, "Life is not about you and it is not about me, it is about the glory of Christ being seen in and through me, we don't have to survive!"  That is so true, "My view of God determines my walk with God."  When I, daily by the way, start it right with a correct focus on who He is in my life and what He has done for me and then live it out throughout the day, it is amazing the difference that focus makes.   God will take care of those who walk in wickedness, I don't have to control or try and manipulate them in anyway.  He will take care of them.  I must focus on how I live, worship, work and serve the living God.  He promises to give the power to do that on a regular basis to those of us that make that a decision on a daily basis.

Have a great day my friends and join me in living a life filled with worship and praise through our character, speech and thought life to our living God.  Watch the difference it will make in us personally and all those around us.

Have a great day my friends,

Pastor Doug
