Dear Friends,
It is hard to believe that Christmas is only one week away. Wow, time has flown and no matter how busy I am with this program or that ministry, "Here it comes."
Would you take a moment with me today and pause......you know, slow down a little in the midst of the hectic schedule many of us have kept this season and ponder with me the beautiful truth of the first Advent?
"God became man and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory." I know the first part, it is the second part I want to sure grow in, that part where I take time to "Behold Him."
There's a song that we like to sing (fortunately you can't hear my voice sing this as I have been told that my voice is a mix between a bass and a baritone, it's called a monotone) "Oh come let us adore Him., for He alone is worthy!"
To many well meaning Christians have been to busy to focus their heart thoughts on "Adoring that Christ who became a babe in the manger, the One and Only One who gave His life on the cross of calvary, who rose victorious over sin and death (and by the way is the only way to Heaven), and today sits at the right hand of His Father in Heaven as the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's. That same Jesus Christ who will one day come on that powerful white horse, at what is called the Second Advent, to rule and reign for 1000 years, supremely! The Sovereign ruler, sustainer Lord of All who is worthy our taking time on a daily basis, by the way not just this time of year, to worship, adore, honor and hold Him in awe! Watch the wonderful difference in perspective, stability, peace, strength, mission and passion this makes when we, each one of us as Christ followers, Truly Behold Him in all the glory He has revealed to us.
Have a great week my friends, ready or not, here comes the Christmas celebration---may our hearts be filled to overflowing as it comes with deepening love for our worthy Savior, for he alone is worthy!
